I'm glad my work has been encouraging. But of course everything I do is because of the inspiration of other artists, events, phenomena and the support I'm lucky enough to enjoy. I'll have to work on better publicity so I can keep you informed. It's not a strong aspect of my abilities. I am a phd student in archaeology exploring how artistic mediums may inform archaeological investigation, and form outputs for scientific data... I exist somewhere on the edge of art and science,and my interpretations of the past are informed by perfomance studies. In particular, I am interested in the mutability of skin and the boundary between animality and humanity. I explore the body as experienced through ideas of what it meant in the 1500s to be a sinner or a saint, pure or impure. I would love to chat with you about your work and mine if you are interested. Since then I have merged my own bio-medical sciences (consultant microbiologist in Woolwich) with my art practice (PhD about drawing and empathy at Wimbledon, UAL, participating with staff and located in the hospital where I work in the laboratories as well as the gallery).
